Gravimetric prospecting methods

Gravimetry is a geophysical technique that measures variations in the Earth's gravitational potential field. It is a prospecting method that allows the detection of density anomalies in the subsurface.

These minute variations, caused by density contrasts in the Earth's crustal constituents, can be measured by gravimetric surveys using highly sensitive instruments.
