      • CHAPTER I : ELECTRICAL METHODS

        The primary objective of electrical prospecting methods is to determine the distribution of electrical properties (resistivity, conductivity, and polarizability) within the subsurface to infer the presence, depth, and characteristics of geological structures, mineral deposits, or environmental features.

      • Gravimetric prospecting methods

        Gravimetry is a method consisting in the measurement of changes in the intensity of the Earth’s gravity caused by non-homogeneous distribution of masses in the geological medium. All these heterogeneous geological structures and forms, both natural and anthropogenic, are called disturbing or anomalous bodies. Thus, gravimetric measurements consist of determining the difference in gravity force between individual measuring points concerning the regional field. The tests are carried out using extremely sensitive instruments – gravimeters capable of recording even small changes in the intensity of gravity. Surface gravitational research can be divided into global, regional, detailed, and microgravimetric, depending on the size of the research area, the density of measurement points, and the purpose of the research.

      • 3- Seismic prospecting methods


        The three main types of seismic prospecting methods are seismic reflection, seismic refraction, and surface-wave methods, which are used to map subsurface geological structures by analyzing seismic waves. Seismic reflection uses the waves that bounce off subsurface boundaries, while seismic refraction uses the waves that bend as they pass through layers, and surface-wave methods analyze the velocity variations in the shallow subsurface.
