  • Objectives of the course

    By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

    • Identify heat transfer, mass transfer, and momentum phenomena ;
    • Describe transport phenomena at the macroscopic and the molecular level ;
    • Recognize the similarities between the three transport phenomena ;
    • Analyze problems involving transfer phenomena ;
    • Give the basic laws describing heat, mass, and momentum transfer processes.

  • Pre-requisites

    To achieve the objectives of this course, students must have certain prerequisites:

    Thermodynamics and mathematics of L1 and L2.

  • CHAPTER 1 : Introduction to Transport Modes

    • The subject of transfer phenomena, also known as transport phenomena, has three closely related topics: fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer. Fluid dynamics involves the transport of momentum, heat transfer deals with the transport of energy, and mass transfer is concerned with the transport of mass of various chemical species.

  • CHAPTER 2 : Heat Transfer

  • CHAPTER 3 : Mass Transfer

  • CHAPTER 4 : Momentum Transfer
