Course Description: This course explores the molecular and medical aspects of viruses and their impact on human health. It covers viral structure, classification, replication, pathogenesis, oncogenesis, virus–host interactions, and immune responses.
Target Audience: First-year Master's students in Applied Microbiology.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, students will be able to:
-
Understand viral transmission, epidemiological surveillance, and outbreak control strategies.
-
Explore the prevention and treatment of viral infections, including antiviral drugs and vaccines.
-
Understand molecular techniques used to study viruses and the regulation of viral gene expression.
