Wide area networks (WANs) connect geographically distant computer networks using connections provided by telecommunications operators. Unlike local area networks (LANs), WANs can span very long distances, serving different geographical areas such as different cities or countries.
Overall, this course provides the knowledge needed to understand the specific characteristics of WANs compared with LANs and to master the associated technologies.
