  • De Saussure's Dichotomies

    in this lecture, students are introduced to European structuralism and its founding father Ferdinand De Saussure.the students are also introduced to the his famous dichotomies which are langue and parole, signifier and signified, synchronic and diachronic, and syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations.

  • Morphology

    In this lecture, students are introduced to morphology as a branch of linguistics and the different types of morphemes including Bound and Free morphemes. In addition the bound and free morphemes are in turn divided into inflectional and derivational, lexical and grammatical respectively. the aim of this lecture is to help students do morphological analysis of both words and sentences.
