    • Objectives

      This module is designed to:

      • Make students aware of the differences between translation and interpreting.
      • Develop students ability to understand and translate literary texts between English and Arabic.
      • Help students choose the best technique in translating small literary chunks.
      • Identify characteristics of diplomatic language.
      • Make students aware of the diplomatic language between English and Arabic.
      • Introduce students to sight translation and practice it in translating diplomatic letters.

    • Pre-requis

      To be able to properly follow the course of Translation and Interpreting, students are said to have some prior knowledge like:

      • Having an intermediate level in both English and Arabic.
      • They must know the basic rules of translating between English and Arabic.
      • Students must have a good vocabulary and an intermediate level of writing in English and Arabic.
